On the 26th , October 2021 Hope and Care conducted the second day of training with the theme of the human rights introductory that entitled “Living free& equal and gender bread”. As hope and care that is social organization which promote the rights of LGBTIQ people and sex workers in Rwanda through capacity building and promote inclusiveness of LGBTIQ community in whole society. The participants learn different approaches which used in Advocacy like S.P.I.C.E . The participants also learn the different between sex, sex orientation and gender identity and how each is different from other. The learners’ they gain space to understand more about Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual, Intersex and Queer community and why it is vulnerable community and what factors make it more vulnerable.
The participants also learned about the legal forms in Rwanda regards Human rights, rights to marriage (article 17, rights to health (article 21) and rights to no-discrimination (article 16).
The participant have gained enough time to ask for more clarification on the LGBTIQ community and how they should intervene in the advocacy and awareness but also by knowing their own rights
In the conclusion the HAC executive director Seleman Nizeyimana thanked all Participants for their participation and encourages them to apply/make in action to what they took from the trainings in order to fulfill the organization’s mission and he also thanked COC for their support, the aim of those training was to strengthening institution through training organization boards members, staff and volunteers
